So, I made this scarf for my cousin for Christmas, using the pattern designed by Marie Connolly (pattern can be found at stitchdc.blogspot.com). I made a few adjustments. I switched row 1 and 2, so row 1 was knit and row 2 was a purl row. In addition to that, instead of making 2 pompoms for each end of the scarf, I crocheted 2 large flowers for each end. My pattern for the flowers is below. The scarf stitched up very quickly. I used super bulky yarn and US size 13 needles.

Lionbrand Wool-ease Thick & Quick in Raspberry(A) & Natural(B)
Size N Crochet hook
Pattern:
1) With B, ch 4, join with first ch
2) ch 1, sc in circle, *ch 3, sc in circle, rep from * 6 times, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off A--6, ch 3 lps.
3) Join A in any ch 3 lp, ch 1, in each ch 3 lp around work sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc, join with sl st in beg sc, fasten off A--6 petals
4) Working BEHIND the flower, join B with sc AROUND post of any sc in row 2, *ch 3, sc around post of next sc, rep from * around, join with sl st to beg sc, turn--frontside of flower will now be facing you
5) Ch 1, *sc, hdc, 2dc, 2tr, 2dc, hdc, sc, rep from * around, join with sl st in beg sc- fasten off.
Weave in ends and enjoy!!!
